“When I first saw Riker on Glee, I thought to myself, “I like that kid’s hair! I wonder where he’s from?” So, that night I looked him up, and I found R5 through Glee. I wish I found out about them sooner, because their music is literally food for my soul. Their songs to me, are like Taylor Swift songs for normal teenagers. There’s a song for every mood I’m feeling, and it instantly makes me a happier person. I hope to someday meet them, when they tour the east coast, and thank every one of them.”

“People usually ask me, what do I thank Riker for. And every single time I say ‘my life’. Not a lot of people know about my past, and how I harmed myself way too often, but I will always remember the time I ended up in the hospital because of it.

When I came home, I read my notifications and found a tweet from Riker: ‘Baby you gotta smile smile smile, just remember to smile smile smile :D’ in that moment, I started thinking a lot of things, realizing that I’m the luckiest girl on this planet, and thankfully I made it that time to read the little message that changed my life.

I will never stop thanking him for what he did for me without even knowing it, he made me a stronger person and since then, I’ve been looking up to him. Now, whenever I struggle and feel down, all I need to do is remind myself that I have to do my best for him, and try to put a real smile on my face every day just like he does.

I admire his optimism, joy, energy, personality and outlook in life. He’ll always be my hero and biggest inspiration. Thank you Riker!”
